Recappit ("Recappit," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at recappit.com and a related messaging service that turns the moments you share into a personalized newspaper written by fictional characters. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Recappit or by texting our service, you agree to this Policy.

• Content you submit, including photos, captions, messages, and other moments you send to be included in your group's newspaper.
• Messaging activity, such as the texts you send to and receive from our service, and your opt-in and opt-out choices.

How we use your information

• To operate the service: to receive the moments you send, generate stories and newspaper editions, and deliver them to you and your group.
• To send you messages related to the service, including reply messages, confirmations, edition notifications, and support responses.
• To maintain a record of your group's editions over time.
• To protect the service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

SMS / text messaging

Recappit offers an optional text-messaging feature. You opt in by texting our service first, or by redeeming an invitation code provided by your group organizer. When you opt in, you consent to receive reply and notification messages from Recappit related to your newspaper.

Message frequency varies based on how often you and your group send moments and how often editions are published. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; you will receive a single confirmation and no further messages. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at the email below. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the service:

• With your group. Content you submit is intended to appear in your group's newspaper, which is shared with the members of that group.
• With service providers who help us operate Recappit (for example, messaging, email delivery, hosting, and AI text generation), bound to use the information only to provide those services to us.
• For legal reasons, where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.

As stated above, no mobile information is sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Data retention

We retain newspaper editions and the content within them so your group can revisit them over time. You may request deletion of your information by contacting us at the email below. We will honor such requests except where we are required to retain information by law.

Children's privacy

Recappit is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Group organizers are responsible for the content they choose to include about family members.

Your choices

• Opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.
• Request access to or deletion of your information by emailing us.
• Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any edition email.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the service where appropriate.
