Welcome to Recappit. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Recappit website and messaging service operated by Recappit LLC ("Recappit," "we," "us," or "our"). By using Recappit, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Recappit turns moments you and your group share — photos, captions, and messages — into a personalized newspaper written in the voices of fictional characters. Stories and editions are works of comedic fiction generated from the content you provide. They are not factual reporting, and any resemblance to real events is presented for entertainment.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create a newspaper or operate as an Editor. The service is intended for adults and for sharing among people who know one another.
Recappit offers an optional text-messaging feature. You opt in by texting our service first, or by redeeming an invitation code from your group organizer. Once opted in, you may receive reply messages, confirmations, edition notifications, and support responses related to your newspaper.
Your mobile opt-in and consent are handled as described in our Privacy Policy and are not shared with third parties for marketing.
You agree not to misuse the service, including by attempting to disrupt it, access it without authorization, send spam through it, or use it to harm others. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms.
Recappit, its characters, names, and branding are the property of Recappit LLC. The content you submit remains yours; the generated editions are provided for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment within your group.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. Generated stories are fictional and may be inaccurate by design. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that any particular message or edition will be delivered.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recappit and Recappit LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
